I have been informed by Hughesnet that the problems in accessing email: "corrupted content data", data transmission error", "corrupted content error" are due to changes made by Mozilla Firefox. What can be done to correct these problems.

For a few weeks when trying to access hughesnet email, we are not able to click through without "retrying" sometimes several clicks. I have just spoken to hughesnet support and have been informed that this is a problem with all Mozilla Firefox users. Their suggestion is to switch to Internet Explorer.

That is a server problem.

You can get a "Corrupted Content Error" error if there are multiple location redirects send via the HTTP response headers.
Firefox doesn't allow that for security reasons.

Thanks for the response. However, this response does not really address my issue. Whenever we click on hughesnet email we get these "corrupted content data", data transmission error", "corrupted content error" messages. It takes several times clicking "Try Again" to click through for email to come up.

This has been happening only for a few weeks, and I have just now taken the time to address the problem.

Upon speaking with hughenet support, I was informed that all Mozilla (Firefox) users are experiencing this and that by switching to Internet Explorer the problem would go away. Since I prefer to use Mozilla, I would like to find the solution. It seems that an update of Firefox could be causing the problem? Thanks.

The update is causing a problem for websites that send bad webpages. For all the millions of normal websites Firefox will still work without problems. So the solution is that Hughesnet stops sending crap.

You could ask Hughesnet to refer to the problem as linked in the first answer above. My understanding of that; is that it would appear their server is not providing correct valid headers, and that there is a potential security risk to users of such headers.

It is possible that they do some server load balancing and hop from one server to another. Some servers may not work, so if you are unlucky and end up with a server that sends incorrect response headers (multiple location redirects) then you may need to try again.
