An "authentication required" box for an apparent porn site won't let me get on Mozilla without user/password. I have none. Any way to get rid of it?

When I turn on Firefox, an "authentication required" box for an apparent porn site comes up and will not go away when I click cancel, and only makes a dinging sound when I try to do anything on Options (to change the setting where startup goes to the last session) or anything else. It only lets me add a new window but have to close in Task Manager. I tried full virus scan and cannot get this damned thing off. I cannot go on the web except with Internet Explorer, but I prefer Firefox.

hello johnwayne69, your firefox version is outdated and vulnerable - please first download firefox 13.0.1 from www.getfirefox.com & install it on top of your current setup. then go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information and reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)

Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

you're very welcome! & just to be sure i'd recommend you do a full scan of your system with a different security software too, the free version of malwarebytes gets recommended here quite often...
