Every day I have to re-install Firefox, the link won't work. So I have to remove Firefox then re-install. Also Flash Player keeps crashing. I am using Windows Vista 64bit. I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, and Java.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Some security software has virtualization or sandbox features that may cause problems by protecting and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:

  • disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
  • disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

My Firewall is Windows, and my Anti-Virus is AVG. I can not reset Firefox because the link is gone, so I don't have access to troubleshooting. I have to delete program and re-install Firefox to get it to work. Thanks everybody for your help.
