hello, just wait a few days until norton comes up with a compatibility update for its extension.
downgrading to firefox 21is not recommended and certainly will be more insecure than the disabled extension, since the latest firefox release has fixed 14 known security vulnerabilities.

I'll contact Norton for this matter

in their support forum their representative posted, that they are aware of the issue and working on delivering the update necessary - it should only be a matter of days...

Some folks need to be held accountable. NORTON has known of this issue since at least 06-24-2013 10:47 PM. It is currently 07/03/2013, more than a week has passed. How long do you expect a patient audience that has paid for a SECURITY SERVICE ?

That is a question for Norton support.

Firefox 22 was in Beta testing for 6 weeks (as usual), and Firefox version release dates are known for 24 weeks - was Norton working on Firefox 22 compatibility during the Beta phase or did they wait until the last minute?

Norton has updated the feature but now, How do I re-start Norton Vulnerability protection in Firefox 22?

more options

I cannot see how Norton has updated the feature. I did all the available updates, but Firefox still has disabled the Norton Vulnerability Protection.

Hi Larson, I did a mistake , Norton made a fix for the norton toolbar see: http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Toolbar-Norton-Identity/Firefox-22-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/979947

Thee are lots of people within the Norton community who are asking the same question but their answer is Firefox 22 still in Beta, however, I don't think is in beta or RC so Norton does not have an answer yet.

thanks Let's keep posted bye

In case it provides any reassurance, here is Symantec's support article: Message: "Norton Vulnerability Protection is incompatible with Firefox 22.0" after I install the Firefox update:

You are still proactively protected from the browser-based and web-based attacks through the multi-layer protection technologies in Norton solutions including the Symantec Intrusion Prevention, Download Insight, and SONAR.

Thank you for your explanation, chappy.

Thank you jscher. I hope there really is still protection. I am using IE right now. We have an older computer and IE is slow and hangs up constantly, even though I've done all the safe(-ish) cleaning I can do to speed up the computer. I've tried other browsers, but Firefox had been my favorite.

Norton Community experts reply to me: Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1.3 supports Mozilla Firefox version 3.x - 16.x. Firefox Version 22 is not supported. See: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH174537 here is no workaround currently. Browser IPS is not supported on FF22.

These are the most important replies that i got from them.

So What next,, should we contact Mozilla group so they can contact Norton or what?

Hi chappy08, I think everyone's assumption was that you were running the consumer product, not the business product. The business product updates on a different timeline. I don't think Mozilla has any influence with Symantec on the timing, and Symantec clearly is aware of the issue already. One of their reps indicated there would be support in the next release (post).
