Sorry you are having problems.

I am not aware of any limits. Are you using private browsing or have turned off History saving ?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode (Never Remember History).

• Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
• Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

• Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

I am not using private browsing and history is being saved. The clear history button is when closed option is checked but forms are excluded. This problem was occurring before I check this.

I have played with pressing enter when I complete a fields and this does not make a difference.

I am looking in Add-ons Manager -> Extensions. The Ask Toolbar is disabled and the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant is disabled since it is incompatible with Firefox 23.0.

I will attempt the other stuff later. the system admin just took down the site for other maintenance.

Try to delete or rename/move the formhistory.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder in case there is a problem with the file.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

• Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

You have set Firefox to clear History when it closes that is probably the problem.

P.S. That does not explain why you are unable to save new forms entries, but it will explain why they are not retained after a restart..
