Firefox crashes
System: Ubuntu 12.04; Firefox 30.0
After system update Firefox did not start anymore. I uninstalled Firefox and removed the settings folder from Home directory. I reinstalled Firefox. Now, Firefox starts. After approx. 5 seconds it freezes. Few seconds later Firefox closes. There are no error messages.
I followed some suggestions on the web: updated Firefox and Ubuntu: same behaviour Restart with Add-ons Disabled: same behaviour Plugin check: Firefox crashes before page loads there is no 'submitted' folder in ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/. I was never asked to submit a crash report.
Thank you!

I found the problem:
when I ran 'firefox -safe-mode' in command line, the error was promted to command line.
In my case the Pipelight Plugin (Silverlight for Linux) caused the problem. I purged Pipelight and all is fine now.
Thanks for you time!

It is a Ubuntu Canonical Build I am not sure they submit crash reports. Ubuntu Canonical only submit reports to launchpad for PreRelease builds.
Mozilla Builds submit crash reports to Mozilla.
Your User Agent String is detected as
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/35.0.1916.153 Safari/537.36 so I guess you postedfromChrome
But you then shows details including
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0
I by the way have Mozilla Release Fx30 and Canonical Aurora Fx31
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 ID:20140608123345 CSet: Undefined
Try starting Firefox in Safe Mode
Possibly consider installing the Mozilla Build of Firefox as an additional browser.
- Install Firefox on Linux Does that install and work ok ?

Thanks for your suggestions!
yes, I have posted from Chrome, because Firefox crashes too fast.
Safe mode does not make a difference.
Meanwhile I experienced that Thunderbird also crashes the same way. The only difference is that Thunderbird survives about 1 minute while Firefox crashes after 5 seconds.
Since Thunderbird also crashes, I do not believe that the Mozilla Builds will fix this. Do you have any other ideas?

Glad you fixed the problem. Thanks for posting back.
I am not actually aware of a current working Silverlight equivalent for Ubuntu.
