Scroll arrows missing FF and thunderbird using Linux Zorin 9

more options

I am a new linux user, I just installed Zorin 9 after trying Zorin 8... when all was complete I was quite pleased :). I then discovered there were no scroll arrows in Firefox browser, only a small, very narrow, blue scroll bar. Grrrr.. Also there are no scroll arrows in Thunderbird. I have found some info here regarding this problem, but being a total novice in Linux I am unable to figure it out. Thanks for some much needed help.

It may well be in other programs, but most do not have a need to scroll. I had the latest Firefox version installed.

I was not that impressed with Zorin anyway, so I removed it and installed Linux Mint 17 Qiana, then after switching to the Xfce desktop, scroll arrows were back.

Thanks for your response

Can you please also check to see if this is an issue in other programs. After some research I have seen that this can happen in some versions of linux. Please make sure you are up to date.

Also I would recommend updating Firefox to version 31 :-)Install Firefox on Linux should get you started.
