So opening Google Maps the website crashes Firefox? Try running Firefox in Safe Mode to see if that helps: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=Safe+Mode.
This will indicate if you have add-ons that need updating or if hardware acceleration is causing issues.
Also,
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

Some of your crash reports weren’t sent to the Mozilla Servers.
In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.
Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.
Okay, if Safe Mode still crashes, the problem might be outside Firefox.
Quick internet searches found posts like https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1059732 that point to software updates solving the problem (note that it's not just gfx drivers, but multimonitor software too; gfx in general). These are all on Windows, but checking drivers and updating other software could be the next practical step for solving the issue.
You can always try a Firefox Refresh to clear up bad settings and bloat, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings. Consecutive updates to Firefox and your profile ageing cause said bloat and can result in bad settings being applied (although Safe Mode should cover this base, the Refresh gives you a new beginning in the normal operating environment).
PS. Submitting the reports as suggested above will help Mozilla deal with this issue in the future.
