when I close a web page I no longer want it also kicks me out completley out of search enggine I still want to continue without beining kick off

You can open search results in a new tab by middle-click on a hyperlink, by right-click and using Open Link in a New Tab, or by using {Ctrl + click} on a hyperlink. Plus, some search engines like Google allow the logged-in user to set their own preferences for that search engine to open hyperlinks in a new window - and if you have Firefox set to Open new windows in a tab instead the webpage will open in a new tab.

For the Google website you can set preferences on the Google results page via the gear icon in the top right corner, click that button to open the menu list and select Search settings.

Such a setting is stored in a cookie, so you need to create an allow exception to keep such a cookie.


You can set the Boolean pref browser.search.openintab to true on the about:config page to open the search results page in a new tab in case you use the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar.
