So I was on my skype for desktop client (Windows 8.1) when I noticed that my contact lists got much bigger, upon closer inspection I noticed that those were facebook contacts, I never used facebook to login into skype, my skype account and facebook account use different email accounts, I tried disabling it but noticed that the "find contacts on facebook" button was still available (meaning it wasn't doing it that way), either way, after toying around I logged off from facebook on firefox and... that fixed it.

So I'm wondering, how is skype reading my firefox sessions/cookies? is there any way to block external applications from reading these kind of sensitive info?

I have no skype plugins on firefox so it wasn't reaidng it that way

Skype shouldn't be able to read your Firefox session information.
