My thunderbird opening screen shows only my inbox, none of the other local folders. What can I do to see them?

Until the past few days, whenever I opened Thunderbird, the screen showed "Inbox-local folders" at the top of the left column, with all my local folders, including "sent', "junk", "trash' and all of the local foldrs I created listed in that left column. Now it says only "inbox" on the tab and shows only my inbox messages. I expect I reformatted it by mistake. What can/should I do to be able to see and switch easily between "inbox" and my oother local folders. Thanks for your help!

You need to turn the Folder Pane back on.

Do you have a Menu Bar with File-Edit-View etc? If not press the alt key to make it appear. From the Menu Bar select View-Layout-Folder Pane
