Will Firefox bookmark searches ever include folder Name fields and Description fields?
When I search for a bookmark, I would like the list of search results to include not just the list of relevant bookmarks, but also any bookmark folders that match the criteria. This way, I would be able to open a matching bookmark folder and then comb through all the various bookmarks to see if the bookmark I need might be one of the siblings in a folder.
Yes, I use the Parent Folder add-in, and this is somewhat helpful. But it forces me to check each and every bookmark. This is unnecessarily time consuming. Seeing all the matching folders would really help me find what I'm looking for fast. If this isn't on the FF wish list or road map, I would consider hiring someone to create it as an add-on.
Please let me know if this solution already exists somewhere or is in the planning.
Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul, it's definitely not built in, and I don't know whether anyone is working on adding it as a feature.
- You can suggest future feature changes using this page: https://input.mozilla.org/feedback/firefox
- It's difficult to find a roadmap of planned features, but you might find one or more open "bugs" in the bug tracking system... it's probably easiest to use Google to spot it (add keywords as needed): search bookmark folders site:bugzilla.mozilla.org - Google Search
Meanwhile, there are many bookmark-related extensions, but I suspect you've already searched: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/
As an occasional workaround, you can use an exported HTML copy of your bookmarks for searching (open in a Firefox tab and use Ctrl+f). Since it's not interactive, that's no substitute for being able to search in the Library dialog. Still, it could be handy from time to time. See: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks.
Note that you can jump to a (folder) name in the bookmarks sidebar and in the left pane in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) if the folder or bookmark is visible (not collapsed). You can do that by quickly pressing the first characters of the folder name. If you type too slow then a new search is initiated. The treechildren area needs to have focus, so if necessary then click at the far left of the position where you want to start searching. This works with all treechildren type of lists, but unfortunately you can not find hidden content. For folder names it is best to use the left (folder) pane in the Bookmarks Manager (Library).
