Okay, I've been all over looking for an answer to what should be a simple problem. How can I possibly have two copies of Firefox running . . . when everyone says it's not possible. After the last update (50.1.0) I began to see two copies running. When I closed one -- using Windows Task Manager (WTM) -- I would see that copy disappear until I restarted closed tabs and then it would re-appear. Both copies appear to be active -- I can see them via WTM updating memory usage. Sometimes I'll see one copy reporting it is using 1,700,000+K of memory -- slowing everything down. So I kill it only to have it arise anew. It is not two different windows or two different tabs or anything else I can find. My only "proof" is that WTM shows two running and killing one only lasts a few seconds -- until I restart the tabs that were already open -- and then I have two copies again. If I stop Firefox completely and then start it again I get two copies. If I shutdown and restart I get two copies. You want two copies, 'cause this is how you get two copies?! I've tried to add an image to this plea for help . . . but all I'm seeing is a revolving clock-like thing . . . and I can't make THAT stop either. dennisxxi
