How do I remove the pending Firefox 57 update so it stops asking me to install it?

more options

I disabled automatic updates in Firefox 56 to avoid breaking the incompatible extensions but it has already downloaded the update. Every time I start firefox it shows the Windows UAC prompt to complete the Firefox 57 installation.

Also the firefox hamburger menu shows "restart to install updates".

I have disabled auto update on a couple of my installs and it shows it under the about to update but it won't force it on me.

What you are seeing means that you have the option to use a background maintenance service to perform updates. Easiest way to get it to stop asking is to go into your options and uncheck use background service to update. Then it will not ask you anymore and when you are ready you can go to about and install it from there by clicking the button.

Let us know if that works for you.
