On other pages there has been no workable solution to this so I guess Firefox no longer cares about people who use it. BUT this suicide update also created other problems. On my MS Office Outlook I suddenly started being unable to use hyperlinks with an error - "This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." Turns out this was caused by the Quantum upgrade. If you are a bit computer savvy the fix is simple - but make a restore point first, just in case. You can find it explained step by step on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqZjaP7rmIU Good luck

If you are a bit more savvy you can remove all mentions of Firefox from your registry and save yourself time later.

Hi, here's a few options: To increase the number of thumbnails, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSiteCount then right click > Modify to change the number to e.g. 18. Now restart Firefox.

To use the old version - which might be removed at a later date, type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled and double click on it to change 'Value' from True to False, then restart Firefox.

Alternatively, you can use the add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/

Thanks for the Office info - that might be useful to others.
