Firefox 52.9.0esr out on June 26 (same time as 60.1.0esr) will be the last major update for Firefox 52 ESR apart from any 52.9.x esr updates for security or allowed stability fixes.

Firefox 60.2.0esr will be out Aug 21 and Firefox 52 ESR will be EOL then. So people will have to upgrade to 60.2.0esr to keep getting security updates if they have not manually upgraded to 60.x.o ESR already. Firefox 60 ESR will require Windows 7, 8, 10.

Note it will still run, there may or may not be any security updates after the above dates for it though.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Depending on your CPU and amount of RAM you have you could consider 32-bit Windows 7.

Or you could even dual boot with a light 32-bit Linux distro. I do sugest you avoid heavier desktop managers like KDE and Gnome3 as Xfce and LXDE would be better. Not as many distros still supports the old 32-bit CPU's though as Lubuntu and Xubuntu may be a couple of options among lighter disters.

It may seem daunting at first depending but it can be pretty easy to get to know the basics and there are often guides and faqs around for some distros to help you do things.

The end of support for Firefox XP is September 5, 2018. Until that day versions 52.9.x esr may appear. Currently it is 52.9.0.

This is a older thread. The exact EOL date was still undecided at time as it was early June that the Sept 5th date was set.

Most minor updates for the ESR happen with the first two weeks after Release. At this point unless there is a critical security fix that was warranted, there likely will not be any minor updates with the days left. Any updates may may make some legacy 52 ESR users think it was still be supported for a while yet.
