What do you think "nightly" means? Why put up with updates every day?

The (slightly unstable at times) alpha Nightly version of Firefox which is intended for users who want to help with the development of Firefox by testing what will become the "new Release" version in 16 to 24 weeks. Part of the "testing" involves finding and then reporting any Bugs or faults that are found in Nightly; not to ask here that those faults be fixed.

My advice is to stick with the Release version of Firefox (currently 60.0.2) and save yourself the grief of possibly having new or different problems every day. Back in the days of Firefox 3.6 and earlier, the "nightly alpha" development was actually named Minefield due to it maybe getting "blown up" from time to time as new code was added that may not work out to well. The users who came online in the morning (US time zones) may get an update that causes all sorts of issues or may cause Minefield not to work at all; then once that is discovered another new build for that day is created (usually backing out what had been added in the first one) and the "morning" version is updated a 2nd time that day.
