LastPass extension no longer brings up log-in dialog balloon when left clicked - just get small, empty balloon.

more options

Recently, the LastPass extension no longer offers up a log-in dialog balloon when the LastPass icon is left-clicked. It lust shows a very small, empty dialog balloon. A right click on the icon offers Last Pass as an option, which leads to a separate log-in page for Last Pass. I followed this up with Last Pass and they claim it is a Firefox issue. It did seem to occur right after the last Firefox update... Will try to send a screenshot of what I see when I left click the icon.

Thank you for sharing your add-ons list. It looks like you have the recently updated (October 18) version of the LastPass add-on. If the problems just started, maybe it's a bug in that version??

It's normally not recommended to roll back add-on updates, but if necessary, you can install the older version. To avoid having the extension immediately update again, you would need to disable extension updating, too.

There is a risk of data loss with any add-on rollback because the extension might have modified its data storage format. You may wish to research whether others have done this successfully before proceeding.

If you want to try it:

(1) Open the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then find LastPass on the right side and click the More link to go to its details page.

(2) Temporarily turn off auto-updates for the extension

Scroll down on the details page to the row that says Automatic Updates and change from "Default" to "Off".

(3) Manually install the older version from the Add-ons site

It would be the second version down from the top on this page:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/versions/

(4) Make a note to check for a LastPass update in a few days

If the problem affects a lot of people, you may see a fixed version later this week.
