re:send an edited draft mail found out that mail includes an 'attachment' checked out this 'attachment' turned out to be the unedited draft mail. didnt like that. So you did something you did not intend to do and are perhaps confused about how you achieved it. If I had done the same as you, then I would be cross with myself as well. After all, it might have been embarassing.

I'm not sure what your comment is about as you are in a Support Forum manned by other fellow unpaid Thunderbird users volunteering their free time to try to help others. You have no issue with any of us.

How Drafts work: Emails partially written in a Write window and then saved as draft are saved in the 'Drafts' folder.

click on 'Drafts' folder then you have a choice. Option 1: right click on saved draft in message list and select 'Edit as new message' This option leaves the original draft as is and opens a new Write message for additional editing. Upon clicking on 'Send', the email is sent and the new draft is deleted, but the original draft will remin in Drafts folder.

Option 2: either right click on saved draft in message list and select 'Edit draft message' or left click on saved draft in list to open it in the Message Pane and select 'Edit'. or double click on draft email in list to open in new Write message This option opens the original draft and it gets edited. Upon clicking on 'Send', the email is sent and the draft is deleted.

The only way you could have achieved including a draft attachment would be to choose the wrong option at some point.

EG: You right clicked on saved draft email in message list and chose 'Forward as' > 'Attachment' OR You already have Forward options set up to send as attachment and you selected one of the following: right clicked on saved draft email in message list and chose 'Forward' left clicked on email in list to see draft message in Message Pane and clicked on 'Forward' button. Or you right clicked on saved draft email in message list and selected 'Edit as new message' and then managed to drag and drop the original draft into the header / attachment area even if by accident. OR you had performed more than one editing and had included the original draft at some point as an accidental attachment and then saved it as a draft which you subsequently reused and sent.

In all instances it would be obvious that there was an attachment as the attachment section in the headers would be opened showing the attachment.

We all get better days than others. Is it possible you were having a bad day and not concentrating fully on what you were doing? To achieve what you experienced, would require user errors at some point and basic lack of checking what you are sending.

In addition to my previous comment: The only other way to achieve it was to use the word Attach in the message and when prompted to attach something you chose the wrong email to be attached.
