When I scroll up and down using my mouse on the laptop, the scrolling cursor stays on my screen. After a few hours I have around 15 scrolling cursors stuck on my screen. They are still there when I use other applications, the only way to remove them is to restart my laptop. I have windows 7 and the latest version of firefox.

You should try to uninstall and reinstall Firefox, let me know if it fixes.

Unfortunately it didn't work.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

Close and restart Firefox after modifying the setting for changes to take effect.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

Thanks for the help. The first option didn't work but since this is a work laptop I cannot check for updates. Could this be because I am using windows 7 and it has the option to upgrade to windows 10?

Hi McCoy, changing the mouse settings didn't work for me, although seems to have made it less frequent. Cannot open regedit because of work computer restrictions.. I guess I will have to take it to IT. Thank you for the help.

Is this only happening with the auto-scroll mouse pointer that opens with a middle-click or also in other cases?
