Thunderbird search doesn't return results for text in the body
I use the thunderbird search (Ctrl-Shift-F) frequently to find old emails in my Sent folder. I've found that it does not always find the email that contains the text specified in the search. I have added two images demonstrating this. In one of the searches I included Body as a search parameter containing the word 'translating'. The search reported no emails found. In the other search I removed the Body search parameter and it found two matching emails. I have verified that the folder is available offline. I'm not sure what else I can check. I've also tried it with different words, so it is not just certain words that it can't find.

how about verifying the body contains the word translating. (and not in the quoted part from a previous email.)
If you look at the image I uploaded you can see the word 'translating' in it. Also note that I said I searched for other words too. I already made sure this wasnt due to my misspelling
Tested on my Win10 OS using TB 60.8.0 using same type of search and it works ok. I notice that your headers are reduced to one line. Are you using an addon to achieve this ? What version of Thunderbird are you using?
Please start Thunderbird in 'Safe Mode' and retest. Please post results.
Initial test was on a pop mail account.
Retested on a gmail imap Sent Mail folder which is ok in offline mode. Full emails downloaded. Confirm. I am seeing exactly the same issue. I can reproduce this error in search.
I repaired the index. Right click on imap 'Sent Mail' folder or whatever server sent folder is called. Select 'Properties' Select 'Repair Folder' click on 'OK'
Ran the search and result was good.
