Many of my emails are filed as junk in a folder - Bulk Mail - I did not create w/o any active filters or searches.
I recently discovered many of my incoming emails are being filed, marked as junk, in a file named "Bulk Mail" that I did not create. I do have a file marked Junk which is specified as the file into which junk mail should be routed and seems to work. I have checked for filters (there are none) and searches on the inbox (there are none). Marking emails sent to the Bulk Mail as "not junk" moves them to my inbox but does not prevent similar emails from the same address being subsequently routed to Bulk Mail when they arrive. Using capital J doesn't work since the emails do not appear in the inbox before being routed to Bulk Mail. If it makes any difference, I have only one email address which is at aol.com.

Bulk Mail is where AOL directs mail considered junk or spam, and this is done on the mail server before it is downloaded to TB.

Thank you sfhowes. I was able to go to AOL and successfully refine their filter so the ones I need to see are getting through. I will continue to monitor what they put into the Bulk Mail file until I am satisfied with their apparent criteria.
