I can't seem to get Babbel to recognize my microphone. Since Babbel is an online language course, it is really important. I have followed the instructions on the Babbel website https://support.babbel.com/hc/en-gb/articles/205600438-How-do-I-set-up-my-microphone-for-speech-recognition- to no avail. I have followed the instructions to add it manually, also did not work. I have gone through all my add-ons and turned them off, and still nothing. Any other suggestions?

On the Babbel website, press the padlock icon on the left side of the Firefox address bar. Then press the arrow button to the right of the secure connection message and select the More Information button from the bottom of that popup.

This opens the Page Info window. From there, select the Permissions tab and scroll to the bottom to find the Use The Microphone permission. Uncheck the Use Default box (if required) and select the Always Ask option.

Now you can close the Page Info window and reload the Babbel website.

If you are still not seeing the microphone showing up on the list of devices when the website asks for permission to use the microphone, Windows may not be allowed apps to use your microphone. In this case, open the Windows 10 settings and go to Privacy. Find the Microphone option on the left sidebar and make sure the setting to allow desktop apps to use the microphone is enabled.

Hope this helps.
