Since the last Firefox update, 84.0.2, I lose my menu bar. Ever since I started using Firefox in Windows, I have the menu bar active. This bar is very useful to me. Now with the new update, it is gone whenever I start Firefox new. I have tried resizing Firefox for Windows using the opposite arrows but the menu bar will not come back. I right click on the tabs bar and it show the menu bar checked. I can shut Firefox down and restart with the menu bar showing. This only happens on any new start of Firefox. Is there any way to prevent Firefox from not displaying my menu bar? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you. rcarrow53

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars {web link}

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar.

Note: about:customizing is no longer present in Firefox v47+ releases.

  • Press Alt or F10 to bring up the Menu Bar.Then View > Toolbars > Customize.
  • Right-click on a blank spot in the toolbar and select Customize.

Look for Show / Hide Toolbars at the bottom left.

There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.
