Hi, over the years I have created many filter rules for messages and I was looking for a way that I could save or export these so I can inport them back in after a reinstall or on my other computers. I have seen an article about copying the thunderbird folder but I am not 100% sure if the filter rules are copied as well but I think they are, which is great for a brand new install, but I was looking for a way to just export and import the rules rather than the whole profile, and then I can back these up from time to time. If there is an way to export just the rules is there an automated way to back these up from within thunderbird? Thanks Ian

The filters are stored in msgFilterRules.dat files in each account folder in the profile, e.g. Mail/pop.gmail.com or ImapMail/imap.mail.yahoo.com. The dat files can be copied between accounts, or from backups to a new computer.

Help/Troubleshooting, Profile Folder, Open Folder, to open the profile folder. Close TB before making any changes or backups.
