I have some trouble using Firefox with my iPad and the Magic Keyboard and don't seem to be the only one: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/kmntpo/extra_tabs_opening_constantly_on_ipad/ghrcbs1/

"I have been experiencing an issue on iPad where new empty tabs open up all the time. My iPad is connected to the magic keyboard, and when I open a new tab using cmd-T it open two new tabs instead. When I click links it often opens up new blank tabs. When I conduct searches using the omni search bar it will often open a new tab and conduct the actual search there."

---

It is exactly the same issue I have. It persists since I use the Magic Keyboard (November 2020) but not, if I use Google Chrome or Safari.

The Firefox Support submission system dropped my initial reply as soon as I sent it. So many bugs :(

I would like to add that, not only is Firefox iOS opening duplicate tabs on URL entry. But also, the Firefox Home new tab configuration continues to launch blank tabs. Sure, you can request the browser to use Firefox Home to display your pins on new tabs. But you will still get an extra blank tab anyway, as if you had selected Blank Tab for the configuration.

The about:config page doesn't work. It doesn't present a clear "Limited functionality on iOS" message or an "Unavailable on iOS" message. It renders as a blank page.

I don't like the QR code button or the disappearing navigation and settings buttons on URL editing. I'm giving up on this unmaintained browser and switching to Chrome.

Having this same issue on an iPad Air and Apple Smart Keyboard. The tab bar also occasionally disappears and doesn’t come back until I close Firefox.

Same issue here - there is just a lot of buginess using the magic keyboard with Firefox on iPad. It’s kind of a dealbreaker using this browser, because the main thing I use my iPad for is web browsing.
