How do I change to choose from the 3 Layout options offered in Thunderbird. It is not where Help says!
How do I change to choose from the 3 Layout options offered in Thunderbird. It is not where Help says! When in Thunderbird I did a search for "How to change the Thunderbird layout" I got the following:-
"Thunderbird contains three layout options for you to choose from to best fit your preference.
Classic view,
Wide view,
Vertical view, How to change the layout Click the menu button , open the Options menu, then go to Layout and choose a layout."
When I go to OPTIONS, (after the 3 horizontal bars on the Right up near the top as directed), I cannot find any Layout. This is not there in our Thunderbird copies. On my computer this does not become important as they already have the changes transferred over from previous computer over the years. However on my Wife's Dell 15 5000 when Thunderbird uploaded it only gave her 1 line for each email with no part below for her to see some details of the message, so she has dozens of double clicked messages all along the tabs, which is terrible for her for review of things to check back on. And I cannot find out how to get the changes after many hours of trying. Can you please help? Bevan

Click the 3-bar menu icon, Customize, Layout.
To view messages with one click, press F8 to show the Message Pane.
Ok, I found it. Whew !!! Hit the 3 bars, choose Customize, Choose the little arrow on the right, choose LAYOUT, then choose your style, Classic, wide view, etc. If it isn't showing, then you have to grab the lower bar on the window, and drag UP, and the window appears. You will never see it, if you don't drag up the window.
Funny that this small detail was left out.
I didn't try this, but I bet F8 now will work.
How frustrating.
