Hello, I switched to Firefox from Chrome, however, the browser is missing one of the most important features I use almost all the time - swipe left to go back and swipe right to go forwards. I checked about:config and browser.gesture.swipe.left is set to Browser:BackOrBackDuplicate but it does not work. All answers on Mozilla Support and elsewhere are outdated or do not answer the question at all. Please fix this, it is the reason why I switched back to Chrome twice before. Any help is appreciated.

Is this a touchscreen or trackpad gesture? Also, how many fingers are being used in this gesture? You may be able to find a gesture utility for Windows and map e.g. a three finger right swipe on the trackpad to go back (Alt+Left) and a three finger left swipe to go forward (Alt+Right).

It's trackpad and I use 2 fingers. I don't want to use 3, because I use that gesture to switch between windows in Windows (default behavior).

In Settings -> Touchpad -> Advanced gesture configuration, you should be able to configure three- or four- finger swipes in each direction (up, down, left, right) to forward/backward navigation. Two fingers are usually reserved for horizontal scrolling in webpages.

As I said, I know about this and do not want to use windows gestures. I want to use 2-finger built-in browser gestures just like in Chrome (or Edge) that seem to be also available in Firefox - How do I enable them or fix them so they work, please?

Have you tried the SwipeToNavigate extension? It does not work for me but maybe it will on Windows.
