Hi I have been using Firefox for years and have been using Gmail within Firefox for years also. The problem which started today is that when I went to open an email within Gmail the only thing I got was the title of the email. There was no message inside the email. If I try and forward the email, the message appears but only with the box to forward the email.

Here is a list of things I tried.

Restarted Firefox (no change Gmail not working properly) Restarted computer (no change Gmail not working properly) Looked up solutions online and did updates to Ad Block (no change Gmail not working properly) Disabled Adblock and uBlock (no change Gmail not working properly)

I can go into Gmail properly on my phone, through Chrome and through the Brave browser and it works fine. Firefox is my main browser and I really don’t want another browser to be open all the time just to access Gmail.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

It may be one of your add-ons. One that has been mentioned is UBlock Origin and the remedy, it seems, is to clear the add-on's cache and update its lists. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems

Does this affect all of your email, or selected messages?

I don't know about that one -- is it real, or a scam? -- but one type of message that could have a blank body is one that has been forwarded numerous times and has deeply nested formatting tags. These are not very common, but if you suspect that, you can right-click the blank area and choose "Inspect" or "Inspect Element" (depending on your version of Firefox) and you'll usually find tons of <font> or <div> tags embedded in other <font> or <div> tags in the HTML tree diagram.

All my emails appear with only the title and no message. It is not just certain ones.

You already checked a lot of things. Here are a few more:

If a site is generally known to work in Firefox, these are standard suggestions to try when it stops working normally:

Tracking Proction Firefox's Tracking Protection feature sometimes breaks websites that embed third party content (meaning, from a secondary server). I don't think this affects Gmail, but just in case: The shield icon toward the left end of the address bar usually turns a bit purplish when content is blocked. Click the icon to learn more or make an exception. See: Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop.

Cache and Cookies: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache (just the Cached Web Content)

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that.

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

First of all thanks for all your help.

1. I went into Gmail and the Tracking Protection icon does not turn purple. Than I turned off Tracking Protection for Gmail and that did not help.

2. I tried both options to do with the Cache and Cookies. I cleared all of Firefox's Cache and than cleared Cookies and Site Data for Gmail but neither of those helped and I am still having the same problem.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

I went into UBlock and at the top there are two buttons, one to purge all caches and the other to update now. Hit both buttons and Gmail is now working properly.

Thanks for all your time and help
