I can receive my Mozilla Thunderbird email messages on my new Pixel 6 phone by Google, but I cannot respond to them on my phone--I just get a "failed" message. I can send and receive messages on my Mozilla Thunderbird account (through cox.net) on my computer (Windows 10) with no problem at all. Sorry, I don't even know if this is an issue with Google, Mozilla, or Cox. I'd appreciate any advice you can give.

This is a phone setup issue. Nothing to do with Thunderbird. I suggest reviewing the setup carefully and compare to how you set Thunderbird up. I assume you are using IMAP.
