I cannot capture and move bookmarks which are located in the hidden overflow bookmark toolbar section. I can capture and move the bookmarks with my mouse if they're located across the top of the screen (under the address bar), but if they are located in the hidden drop down overflow section (drop down arrows on the right side of the screen) I cannot capture them and move them. I've used two different mouses, thinking maybe the first one was defective, but neither one will capture and relocate a bookmark (in the hidden part of the toolbar). Both of the mouses are new, having been bought within the past couple months. Please advise.

You can try to make these changes to the Bookmarks Toolbar in the bookmarks sidebar (Ctrl+B) if you have a problem with doing this via the Bookmarks Toolbar.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Of all things the capture and move feature in the drop down bookmark toolbar using my mouse is working again, as of today 6/2/22. I can capture and move bookmarks again at will.

So, here are my new questions: 1. Since this might be an intermittent glitch, would working through the above solution help clear up this on-again-off-again problem? 2. My laptop is only about 6 months old, if that, so could this intermittent problem be a within-warranty glitch or would the glitch be found entirely within the browser? Or mouse?

Thanks to all who take time out of their day to help.

To the Moderator: In the PREVIEW WINDOW for this post the entire first sentence cannot be seen until the mouse pointer is placed on the plane of the sentence, whereby a slider bar is revealed, and slid all the way to the right. And the sentence is in a different font than that of the rest of the post. Again, this is only in the preview window. What's up with that?

Moderator: Seems the glitch with the first sentence in the Preview Window carried over to the actual post.
