"Change Picture From Clipboard" in MS Office not work with Firefox
In MS Office 365 there's a feature that you can change a picture from clipboard directly (shown in the attached image). It worked with Firefox before. I can copy a picture from a webpage to clipboard and change existing picture with it from clipboard. Currently this feature doesn't work with Firefox, the menu item is grey, but fine with MS Edge. But I can still paste picture from clipboard by pressing Ctrl+V. I cannot tell which side is the source of problem so I asked this question on both Firefox and MS Community.

Firefox does restrict websites from pasting on their own -- this is because you might have sensitive information on the clipboard, like a password you copied to paste into a login form. But you should be able to paste manually with Ctrl+V (or if you Shift+right-click > Paste).

I know that I can still paste image by pressing Ctrl + V, but Change Picture from Clipboard (which does not work properly) is a very important feature for me. How can I disable this restriction in Firefox?
Steps to replicate the issue would be nice.
Whoops, wrong tab! Please ignore.

Step 1: Copy a image to system clipboard by RIGHT CLICK -> COPY IMAGE. Step 2: Switch to MS Office, RIGHT CLICK on an existing image -> Change Picture, the menu item "From clipboard" will be unavailable if the image is copied from Firefox. But I can still paste the image by pressing Ctrl + V, only I need to change size and crop again manually. If I copy a image to clipboard in Edge, or by screen shot, this item is available. BTW, when I copy a image to clipboard in Firefox and then press Win + V I find the image IS IN the clipboard but something prevent CHANGE PICTURE feature in MS Office to paste it.
The OS is MS Windows 11 21H2 22000.918. Firefox 104.0.2. MS Office 365 2208 15601.20088.
There was no this problem before but I'm not sure when it happened or which upgrade triggered it. MS guy just replied that if this item is grey it means that Office doesn't receive the image copied to clipboard from Firefox.
Screenshots attached but it's in Chinese and I translated it (partly).
MS Office... which app in Office?
I don't have the menu item in Word online (not grayed, just missing completely):
If I click the regular Paste instead it tells me that it can't paste in my browser and I should do it myself with Ctrl+V.

In Firefox 29, the old site-specific mechanism to bypass clipboard security was removed. There was an add-on to do it from Firefox 29-56. As far as I can tell, since Firefox 57, Firefox doesn't have a method for either web pages or add-ons to read images from the clipboard.

Okay, Word has a useful feature on the ribbon: there's a triangle below Paste for access to Paste Special. As you can see, Edge places different/additional formats on the clipboard when you use Copy Image compared with Firefox. Apparently the Office feature requires one of those formats for Change Pictures > From Clipboard.
I don't know which one is critical, but either way, I doubt there is an existing setting to enable it. Mozilla recently started up a new "Ideas" site to collect feature requests at https://connect.mozilla.org/. If you have time, it would be a good idea to post there to get into the current feedback stream.
(I tried Copy Image in the Extended Support Release of Firefox 91 as well (91.13.0esr) and Paste Special looks the same as Firefox 104.)
