Recently, Thunderbird has stopped marking messages as read once I open a new message & read it. It stays highlighted as if the message still hasn't been read. I have to manually mark it read by using the M key. It does this in Troubleshooting mode or regular mode. HOw can I fix this?

I am using Thunderbird on Windows 10 machine & it is happening with all of my Gmail IMAP accounts.
