now what i want to do is this! i want to open Firefox's bookmarks and copy all the bookmarks and then open internet explorer and copy these bookmarks into it! now i may have to use explorer in windows to do this but first i need to find Firefox's bookmarks. the answer given tells me how to back up and restore. i don't need that. thanks bp.

The bookmarks in Firefox are not stored in a format that you can manually copy into IE, you will need to use one of the import options.

In IE you can use the "Import and Export" option (depending on the version of IE, it will be in the File menu or the Favorites menu under "Add to favorites"). That has an option to import from another browser, you should then be able to choose Firefox.

Alternatively export the bookmarks in Firefox to an HTML file (see Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks), and then use the "Import from a file" option using IE's "Import and Export" feature.

Edit: The Export bookmarks to Internet Explorer has information of doing this.
