Downloads are not completing and are not sent to my documents
Recently, I can't download files from the internet. The download pop-up screen appears, but the scan doesn't finish. Files are sent to My Recent Downloads, but I can't do anything with them since as the "open" and "open containing folder" are greyed out and they are not in My Documents. When I click on it, a "Missing Shortcut" screen appears and it searches for the file/folder but to no avail. It seems that the internet files are not downloading correctly. If I click on a downloaded file already in My Documents, it goes to My Recent Downloads as well? At least these files will open. What to do?

In the Downloads window, right-click and select Open Containing Folder. You should be able to access your downloaded files from there.
If you want to change the download location that Firefox uses, that can be done in Tools > Options > General - under the Downloads section, Save files to:
I believe the downloads are not even taking place. The AV scan window opens with the start of the download, but quickly disappears. The other "Downloads are Completed" window never shows like it used to. Files/jpegs are listed in My Recent Documents but not in My Documents. When clicking on them in My Recent Documents, the search window yields nothing (probably because they were never downloaded?). The only things that may have caused the Firefox downloads to quit working are a) our daughter downloaded a movie from Amazon (I believe), and b) our daughter removed her User Account from our PC while she was home for Xmas. Things worked correctly on Dec. 24, and stopped working right on Dec . 28? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
whats up forum.
If your error is the same as mine, you are most likely using a variation of 3.6.X.X.XX.
Good news, its a simple fix.
type in about:config into your firefox browser.
set filter to browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone
set parameter to false.
this disables the virus scan after you download.
download on forum!
It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
