How to permanently un-check "Remember passwords for sites" checkbox?
I have a new laptop with new Windows 7, new Norton NIS 11, and new Firefox 4 installed. I use Norton NIS 11 Identity Safe for my web passwords and I want to turn Firefox 4 "Remember passwords" off but it won't stay off and it is very annoying because it pops-up all of the time. I have checked other posts on this problem but none of them successfully resolve the issue as far as I can tell.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

You can use the Private Browsing Mode:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Private%20Browsing#w_what-does-private-browsing-not-save
This works for the purpose of solving this specific problem with "Remember passwords" but it causes me to have to take several extra steps every time that I start Firefox: 1. I have to start Firefox Private Browsing and I must do this before I click any external links that will start Firefox, 2. I have to re-open my bookmarks sidebar (my preference), and 3. I haven't yet discovered what else. Nevertheless, I will like to explore the use of Private Browsing more anyway. Thanks. I still want the BUG FIXED!

Thanks for the Add-on hint. I disabled the Add-on named "FastAccess Web Login 1.12" and the problem appears to have gone away. This Add-on was enabled amongst the thousand things done to configure my new Dell XPS15 which has a built-in camera and a FastAccess program that also activates my Windows 7 account login. If this isn't the final solution then I'll log back in and add another message to this thread. Thanks.
