I clicked on the recommended instal button on www.onemodelplace.com and installed Modzilla Firefox 4.0.1 (x86en-US) and when I went back to my home page my whole list of favorites (100+) were gone and i need them back immediately in that I am a cancer patient and all my records are stored all through those favorites plus 15 years of other stuff that I need.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

You can find the steps listed here to remove the file places.sqlite:

Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

You can make a backup of the bookmarks via:

  • Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Export HTML

Use Firefox > Bookmarks if you have the menu bar hidden and see the orange Firefox menu button.

  • Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if you need to access the hidden Menu Bar.

Thanks to both of you for your help. I only went to Firefox because www.onemodelplace.com asked all it's members to do so. So far I don't like it much and still have not figured out how to make my bookmarks or favorites or whatever they are called show up. I may just dump Firefox because it has changed how my sick little brain has to work and my brain is not getting the advantages at all.
