am actually trying to get several sites to auto remember my login info, have been redirected to clear cache, history, etc. using TOOLS drop down help - the two bottom items, stop private browsing and clear recent history are not highlighted so they can be clicked on, so can't go to the next step recommended - I am using a mac and version 3.6.23 of firefox

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history

  • Deselect: [ ] "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session"
