I have installed Firefox on my Kindle Fire. Does it autommatically become the web browser or do I have to link etc?

After you install Firefox, clicking on a link in another program should cause the Kindle to prompt you to choose a web browser and offer to set a default.

If this doesn't happen, you might first need to open the "Applications" section of the Kindle settings app, tap on your old default browser, and then press the "Clear Defaults" button.
