My Bookmarks Toolbar is blank since upgrading to Firefox 15.0.
The toolbar bookmarks are still there under the Bookmarks Menu, I can launch them or add to and delete from them via the Menu, but they don't display on the toolbar. I've verified via "View > Toolbars" that "Bookmarks Toolbar" is checked, and under "View > Toolbars > Customize" that "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" is placed on the Toolbar itself. I have restarted Firefox, and rebooted my laptop, yet the problem persists. Also, I can drag a tab to the toolbar, or create a new folder on the toolbar, and they appear in my Bookmarks Toolbar list, which I can access from the Menu, but they still do not appear on the toolbar.

'Log-off', 'Shut down', 'Restart' and if that fails to work, there's always 'System Restore'!
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
- Open the Customize window to set which toolbar items to display
- View > Toolbars > Customize
- Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout
- Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
- If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
- If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can try to check and repair the places database with this extension:
I tried the ideas above, without any success. I also started FF in Safe Mode and checked on the Bookmarks toolbar, and my bookmarks appeared again. When I then restarted FF with all add-ons and plug-ins, the bookmarks disappeared from the toolbar once more. So, I suspect it is an add-on or plug-in that is causing the problem. By the way, I updated FF to v15.0 on my desktop, which has virtually the same add-ons/plug-ins, and the bookmarks disappeared there too, so this seems to confirm things. Anyone else have the same problem? Anyone solved it?
Did you try to delete the localstore.rdf file?
