Firefox crashes whenever I try to attach something or save (i.e., ctrl s will crash it)
No idea what's causing it. Same issue happens when running it in safe mode as well as on google chrome. IE seems to let me save (even simply clicking ctrl s will cause it to crash in crome and mozilla), but I cannot get to my email to test the attachment in IE (haven't used IE before on this laptop, so no clue what's going on there).
Firefox is currently updated. Also tried resetting firefox but that didn't seem to do anything either.
Laptop is Asus 64 bit, i5 processor, running windows 7.

I'm aware that you supplied a crash stats link above however I must ask you do the following and provide all crash IDs so I may better serve you.
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
- Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
- In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
- From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
- Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
- Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
- Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!

To clarify, it seems I can download things, but anything that would ask me to browse for a spot to save it on my computer will crash firefox.

The crashes appear to be with the msls31.dll file that is a line service process that provides Unicode support.
Make sure that Windows is updated to the latest patches.
You can use the System File Checker to check if files are missing or corrupted.
Open a cmd.exe window as Administrator:
Start, click Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
After the cmd.exe prompt, type: sfc.exe /scannow

System Files - SFC Command - Vista Forums:
Received the error "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir/Logs/CBS/CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log"
Attempting to upload the document of course crashes the browser....
Not really sure how to read it, but just skimming through it there were a lot of : "Failed to internally open package. [HRESULT = 0x800f0805 - CBS_E_INVALID_PACKAGE]"

Best would be to ask advice at a Windows oriented forum.
