Firefox has been running a long long time without problems. Now, it won't start. Reboot between each try. Tried safemode, tried run as administer (comes up with do you wont the following program to make a change....) tried deinstalling and reinstalling, created a new profile. using avast and malware bytes and have scanned with both. Loaded the software down from Major Geeks site. removed any software that had been installed this month.

Best not to use 3rd party sources like Major Geeks for program downloads.

Get Firefox direct from Mozilla.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

BTW, Firefox 28.0 is the current release version, with 29.0 coming this next Tuesday, the 29th.

you are using Firefox v5.0.1?

If 5.0.1 is a problem, tell me what level I should be running. At this point it is hard to tell anything about it without it starting.

Since you have tried many ways, why don't you try the latest version of firefox? It's currently firefox v28 on release channel.
