Problem was not solved; did as told 3 times. No change; cannot return to an earlier version of Firefox nor Adobe flash player. Reinstalled Firefox and Flash player. Problem still there. Very irritating. No problem with IE, thank heaven! Wife's HP laptop has also Vista but earlier Firefox release. Has no problem. Eventually, in desperation, I uninstalled Flash player. Problem vanished except Firefox which wants me to reinstall Flash player. I resist this and have no problem as I do not watch video stuff much. Vista is up to date and have clean system with Bullguard antivirus. So in a sense problem is not solved but side tracked!

I have not tried this, but take a look at it;
