A web site came up when searching for another website. The website pretended to have the name of the site I was looking for. When I selected the false link I was taken to www.mawords.com which showed a header that implied it was the site I was looking for. When I clicked to exit the page another page blasting an ad opened in a new tab that took over my screen. I was forced to endure the unwanted advertizement until I found a way to escape (close) the tab. This is a bad experience especially for the average (novice) web user. How can mozilla users complain about these kind of pouncing and abusive web marketers?

If you want to report it to law enforcement and you live in the USA you can go to ic3.gov .

Adding to firefoxbob2's post, if you accessed the site through Google, you can report it there as well: https://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/

Consider using adblocking extensions in Firefox such as Adblock Plus to stop advertisements from loading. You can also check the article Pop-up blocker settings, exceptions and troubleshooting for more information on how to block pop-ups.
