How can I tell which of multiple filters took an action to move a message after the message has been moved?

I run a variety of filters on incoming messages, many of which are instructed to move a message to the "Trash" folder. Not unsurprisingly, after going through all incoming messages, there are a variety of incoming messages in "Trash" that were sent there by one (or more) of my filters. How can I tell which filter(s) took the action to send any particular message to "Trash".

If the answer is "there is no way to tell", I suggest this as an update topic, so that filters can be fine-tuned based on actual results (in other words, identify the unintended consequences of filters).

Does the Filter Log tell you anything? Select Filter Log under Tools/Message Filters (enable logging and then run the filters).
