Firefox 36.0.4 won't go to the internet after resuming from sleep
My FF will not go to the internet after resuming sleep in specific situations with my power cord use. I have Windows 7 on my laptop. i use FireFox 36.0.4. i searched the problem and found someone from 2013 with the exact problem and i can reproduce my problem the exact sames way as this person mentioned in their Mozilla support question. Unfortunately there was no successful solution to this issue. My FF fails to respond in this certain specific situations:
It seems to be when i have my laptop plugged in while using FF. If i close the lid to put it to sleep, when i reopen the lid later it will not connect to any websites. i can click on things on the page so it's not completely frozen. i can search on google but it never will connect to a page. it has the circular busy icon and "connecting". it doesn't stop searching or give an error message. i must close out of FF and completely shut down my computer and restart to clear out the problem. if i try to just close Mozilla and restart i get an error message "already running but not responding. the old FF process must be closed before opening a new window" but i don't have a window open and no matter how many times i close and try to reopen i get this same message; If i dont have the power cord plugged it, i dont think i get this issue.

I encountered the same problem but it only happens on one desktop running windows 7 and not another desktop running windows 7 so I am thinking there is another issue. I can sometimes get around it by simply refreshing the page it went to sleep on with the curved arrow in the address bar but would love a permanent easy fix.

Others have reported issues when Firefox resumes after the computer is waking up from sleeping.

Having more than one version of a program may cause issues.
Grab the uninstaller from here: Uninstall Flash Player | Windows Uninstall Flash Player | Mac Then reinstall the latest version.

Shockwave Director Version 12.1.7.157 http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
i will remove this duplicate plug-in but that is not causing the problem since i have the problem when I'm in FF safe mode too and i believe safe mode turns off all plug-ins. So i'll still have the issue.
Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem goes away, that tells us one thing. If it does not, that tells us something else.
Plugins are not disabled.
The problem is when the computer wake from sleep. The programers know of this and are working on it. In the mean time, don't let the computer sleep, or close Firefox. Sorry :-(
Thank you for the explanation. i removed the duplicate adobe program and i'm still having the same problem. I do not have this problem with internet explorer. I do have this problem in even in Firefox safe mode.
Has anyone found a solution to my problem of Firefox not working right after resuming from sleep?

OK. Thanks.
Has anyone considered the possibility that there might be a problem with Windows Sleep Mode? My mom's laptop has several issues with Firefox and any other programs after resuming from Sleep. From what I've read, Mac, Linux, and possibly Windows 8.1 are the only OSes that don't have gross errors with Sleeping.
