You might need to remove an add-on or two before you can regain control of your home page.

Please open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then on the right side, can you find anything related to AOL or anything you don't recognize? Bear in mind that all extensions are optional; none are included with Firefox. Disable everything that isn't recognized or essential, and try to remove anything that has no value to you.

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Then to reset your home page, see either:

You can test using the Home button on the toolbar or by pressing Ctrl+n to launch a new window.
