Cannot get email, get request to install tbird, has been my mail program for years.
Asks for user name and password, never asked before, get page that talks about thunderbird 38 upgrade. tried to get information from tbird but did not get any email from tbird. can get email by going to cableone web site.

You have a username (often your account-name) and a password for your account on Cableone. Thats whats asked for.
When you set up your Cableone - account in Tbird or any other mail client You have to name your accounts name and your password. At least once. In Tbird there is a checkbox "remember ...." If you marked it you would normal never get asked again unless you change password.

Does not take email name or password, tried to get it from tbird but no luck getting it or using what information I do have.
Found the problem and fixed it, clicked on the in box tab, (blind old fart) thx for the help. d2
