This issue is confused, as the crash is caused only on shutdown. It is triggered by a 60 second hang.

So in your case we are back to the initial hang that is causing you to try to shut down Thunderbird.

Have you tried restarting without add-ons? it is on the help menu.

It might look as it's on shutdown, but it's not. After few minutes I can't click on anything.

I am testing now without addons / and will try to enable one by one.

It seems like Enigmail is making problem. Was working just fine with previous versions of TB.

Any idea what could be making problems?

I suggest you ask in the Enigmail community. They are very active. I would also appreciate if you could relay any information you get. If there is an issue with Enigmail it would be good to know about it

Yes indeed, enigmail is causing the problems - however, I've sent them an email, but still didn't get any response at all. Because of that, for now, my enigmail is completely disabled.

You might actually be experiencing is a hang. But I don't see any crash or hang bugs filed that match your description at https://sourceforge.net/p/enigmail/bugs/search/?q=hang+%7C%7C+crash
