Thunderbird 38.6.0 email with attachment shows random % sent then times out. Mail without attachment is not a problem.

When I send email without attachment it goes out no problem. With an attachment it shows a random percentage sent and then stops until it times out. The recipient of the email receives both the email and the attachment but there is nothing in the TB sent box.

have you tried it with your anti virus mail scanned disabled. That is the usual problem. Dodgy anti virus products.

Thanks Matt. I have Bitdefender Internet Security 2015 running and I did disable and tried again. No joy. I have Thunderbird on 2 other computers with the same settings and have no problem with either of them. This is the only computer with Windows 10. Can that have anything to do with the problem?

Hi Matt. I forgot to say that I have also uninstalled TB and reinstalled twice. The second reinstall I used a completely clean TB - that is, no profile. It didn't solve the problem which is why I thought Windows 10 might be part of the problem.
